Our Focus
Education Framework
Alpine Children's Services has an education framework that incorporates:
- the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia
- the importance of learning through play
- emergent curriculum
- using portfolios to document the celebration of a child's growth and learning
- families as partners in their child’s education
The education framework provides the foundation for ensuring that all children attending services provided by ACS experience consistent quality teaching and learning.
Sustainability
Alpine Children's Services has formed a sustainability group with sustainability officers from each centre, the manager and two directors. The group's mission statement is 'Living in the now with a focus for the future'. The sustainability officers have participated in the North East Environmental Leader's program – this will provide them with skills to shift attitudes, shape behaviours and make lasting changes. New initiatives involve the children wherever possible, such as understanding composting through the exciting worm farm!
The group is focusing on developing an environmental audit for early childhood services with monthly meetings. The group welcomes interested parents to join, please speak to the sustainability officer at your centre for further information.
